We are currently accepting applications for an Executive Director to join INSEAD’s Global Private Equity Initivative (GPEI) within our Faculty and Research Department in our Asia Campus (12 month contract).

Reporting to both the Academic Director and the Director of Research Administration, the position holder implements and oversees GPEI’s global mandate & its core activities: research, outreach & teaching.

The responsibilities include the day-to-day operations of the Center, including research activity; engagement with students; outreach & fundraising activities plus Donor Relations; other activities include budgeting, internal communications & engagement with other departments at INSEAD. S/he is responsible for devising and implementing operational procedures to ensure the smooth-running of the department & external communication that is consistent, timely, and relevant.

In coordination with the Academic Director of GPEI, the candidate will also decide on the research direction of the center, ensuring a steady flow of timely & relevant research output, to achieve ever-greater levels of GPEI’s reach in both academic & professional circles.

The job holder will execute research projects in a timely fashion, manage the research pipeline and supervise the center’s staff.

External communication is paramount and experience in the use of social media is a plus.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; MBA preferred
At least seven years of work experience in financial markets, preferably Alternative Investments, in an international setting, plus staff supervision.
Independent & Entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate high level of responsibility and ability to manage multiple priorities
Solid networking skills (an established network in financial markets is preferred)
Experience of writing for a variety of different audiences is mandatory
Outstanding writing and editing skills in English
Experience in presenting research findings to a professional audience; ability to represent the center at conferences (both internal & external)
Analytical, outstanding organisational skills, and highly attentive to details
Proven track record in managing clients and with Business Development experience
Excellent communication skills, a natural team player and the ability to engage with very different profiles across the organization
Social Media-savvy
Results-driven: relentlessly pursues improvement and results
Flexible with a strong work ethic
Diplomatic, professional and positive
Promotes creativity in self and team members
Culturally sensitive with openness to a multi-cultured organization & stakeholders
Facilitates problem-solving and collaboration among various parties
