The School

ESDES was founded in 1987 and is the School of Business of the Catholic University of Lyon (UCLy) which is a non-profit private university which is publically recognised.

ESDES is a member of the “Conférence des Grandes Ecoles” (CGE), Its mission is to prepare students and professionals through research and education to create sustainable value and to develop a responsible economy in a globalised and digital world.

It has started the process of international accreditations (AACSB) and EPAS for its five year integrated Master in Management Programme.

Position

The position has become vacant and the successful applicant will work directly under the Dean. He/She will also work closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

Define and manage the school’s research strategy in line with the school’s mission
Contribute to the accreditation process both national (CEFDG) and international (AACSB and EPAS),
Submit proposals to obtain sources of financing both private and public for research.
Strengthen the relations between research, and the economic and social environment
Develop and manage the research faculty: supervise research activities and ensure that faculty members progress in quality and excellence.
Emphasis results in research (external communication).
As a faculty member the new Associate Dean will continue to publish in high quality international journals in the French rankings of CNRS and/or FNEGE.
The Associate Dean will also carry out teaching duties

Profil

The successful applicant will hold a Doctorate or Ph. D in management. A HDR (or equivalent for international applicants) is highly desirable.
At least 10 years’ managerial experience in either a French or International Business School (academic associate dean, head of departement or Director of Programme(s))
A wide knowledge of the business school environment and accreditations
Results orientated with both collective and individual performance.
Quality and client orientated.
Possessing significant international experience and fluent English and French.
